The idea of “pop-up shops” and stores that are mobile are becoming popular these days. The 3D printing industry has been looking into that idea; especially Louis Vuitton. The company opened up a 3D printed pop-up shop in a shopping center last year. Print the Future opened their own pop-up shop for its 3D printed furniture. Most recently the California-based company Feetz which designs custom 3D printed shoes launched its Feetz@DSW pop-up shops last year. Being the first company to use mobile technology and 3D printing to create customizable footwear, Feetz’ new initiative will have them parenting up with DSW again as well as Von Maur.

The company is starting its “Feetz on the Streetz” end of the summer tour across California and the Midwest. Not only will consumers get to check out the company’s new custom-fit styles, they will also get a crash course in how 3D printing technology will help shape the consumer goods manufacturing process. Visitors will also be able to learn how the company is making the world better with its eco-friendly 3D printed shoes that use no water and very little waste. In addition to stopping at DSW and Von Maur in the Midwest, they will also be stopping at places in California like corporate campuses, public parks, and DSW shoe warehouse locations.

The Tour started August 9th at a DSW store in San Diego and moved on to a Von Maur store during the weekend. Feetz will be moving on to more stores as summer goes on, and you can visit the Feetz on the Streetz tour page to see where the stops will be held. If you haven’t already, be sure to follow the company on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as 3DShoes.com across the same platforms. If you have an interest in winning a free pair of Feetz shoes you can show the company you are helping the Earth. Show a picture of yourself doing something good for the environment and then post it using the hashtag #MadeDifferent.
