Product Information

The Adidas Racer TR23 is designed to be a versatile running shoe with a focus on both performance and aesthetics. Priced around $70, this shoe offers a great blend of quality and affordability. But, can it live up to the hype? Let’s unpack the details.

Unboxing and First Impressions

Unboxing the Adidas Racer TR23 is like opening a present that actually lives up to the hype. The shoe’s sturdy construction and sleek design are immediately impressive. The robust bolstering around the rear adds support, while the rubberized details with the iconic Adidas logo make it a must-have for brand loyalists.

Adidas Racer TR23

Design and Build Quality

One of the TR23’s highlights is its striking resemblance to the Adidas NMD R1, but at a fraction of the cost. Retailing around $70, and even less with promotions (I snagged mine for about $45!), these shoes offer incredible value. The well-ventilated upper keeps your feet cool and comfortable, and the pull tabs make slipping them on a breeze.

Comfort and Performance

Though the Adidas Racer TR23 is marketed as a running shoe, it’s a bit on the heavier side for long-distance runs. For marathons or half-marathons, you might want something lighter. However, it excels in shorter runs up to 10K and daily wear. The all-rubber outsole provides excellent grip and durability, making these a reliable choice for everyday adventures.

Adidas Racer TR23

Versatility and Style

The TR23 doesn’t just perform well; it looks great doing it. Whether you’re rocking shorts, joggers, or jeans, these shoes complement any outfit. The Cloudfoam technology in the midsole and insoles offers plush comfort similar to memory foam. Just keep in mind that the tall stack height might not be ideal for heavy weightlifting or intense basketball games.

Why People Prefer This Product

The Adidas Racer TR23 stands out for its exceptional value and versatile design. It’s perfect for casual runners and those who need a dependable everyday shoe. Its stylish appearance and comfortable fit make it a favorite among sneaker lovers who don’t want to sacrifice style for function.

Features

  1. Cloudfoam Technology – Offers cushioned comfort akin to memory foam.
  2. Rubber Outsole – Provides excellent grip and durability for various surfaces.
  3. Ventilated Upper – Ensures breathability and keeps feet cool.

Additional Features

The TR23 also boasts a wide, stable profile that offers extra support during athletic activities. The diagonal cut lines on the outsole enhance traction, making it a good choice for light trails and urban environments.

Warranty & Service

Adidas offers a standard warranty on their footwear, which typically covers manufacturing defects. For specific details, it’s best to check the warranty policy included with your purchase or on the Adidas website.

Other Users’ Opinions

Users rave about the TR23’s comfort and stylish design. Many appreciate its affordability compared to high-end models, and the positive feedback often highlights the shoe’s versatility for various activities.

Adidas Racer TR23

Final Verdict

The Adidas Racer TR23 is a fantastic choice for those seeking a stylish, comfortable, and durable athletic shoe without breaking the bank. While it may not replace a specialized running shoe for serious athletes, it’s a solid option for casual runners and daily wear.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Excellent value for money
  • Stylish and versatile design
  • Comfortable Cloudfoam cushioning

Cons:

  • Heavier than some dedicated running shoes
  • Tall stack height may not suit all athletic activities

The Adidas 4D, a 3D printed cushioning solution informed by data, promised unrivaled tuning for an individual’s needs. The first proposition of the technology was the Adidas FUTURECRAFT back in 2017, which is set to return on March 19th of this year. The model was highly coveted by UltraBOOST and NMD, but it boasted a high price tag with limited quantities. Its “Core Black” Primeknit upper, grey profile stripes, and “Linen Green” sole put Adidas’ proposition on countless “grail” lists. Over the last few years, the brand’s 3D printed cushioning has emerged on many silhouettes, at a reduced price point, leading to exchange BOOST for 4D tooling. Many collectors paid a pretty penny on the aftermarket but keep an eye out for this 3D shoe towards the end of this month. It is another beautiful innovation in the world of 3D printed shoes.

There are a lot of doubts, and tough competition, but Adidas’ confidence in Carbon technology for midsoles have continued to pay off. Price points for some footwear models have dropped, and new models continue to come out, like the multi-colored 4D Fusion. Many new technologies are coming out, and 3D printed shoes will continue to improve. The 4D Fusion is a lightweight running sneaker with an upper made from Primeknit technology, which is ideal for automating the footwear manufacturing workflow. The upper’s color is a mixture of black, pink, and orange knits.

The 3D printed midsole of the 4D fusion is also multicolor. By using Carbon’s Digital Synthesis tech, the lattice weave of light and oxygen to create a workable resin appears thinner than other 4D products. While Adidas has started offering white and black colors 3D midsoles, a 4D Fusion presents a mix of colors with the white tip gradually changing to a new color, to match the upper.

Some may look at 3D printing as the future of shoemaking. Some major companies are in the lead, such as Adidas. However smaller, futuristic units are making progress with their idea of 3D printed shoes. An example of this is the Shuttle “Shadow,” by SCRY. This shoe is a black silhouette, which at the first glance appears aerodynamically inspired by a racecar. SCRY announced its first 3D printed shoe that utilizes Digital Embryo, which is an integrated printing process, to bring a digital sneaker that is assembled without unnecessary material waster or lengthy assembly line. The sneaker is the result of about two years of design, research, and experimentation, which bring an innovative, sustainable, and personalized future to the footwear industry. The completely 3D printed Shuttle “Shadow” is created in one one-piece contoured design in black color. Its appearance is complemented by a midsole filled with an innovative lattice structure for a soft, cushiony feel. Made without wasting any material, the silhouette also makes recycling more convenient traditional sneakers. The Shuttle “Shadow” is expected to go on sale starting January 31, with an asking price of $650. This is an example of another 3D printed shoe that will help shape the footwear industry.

Adidas has been known to push boundaries when it comes to designing and manufacturing shoes. The brand kicked off a campaign for sustainable manufacturing with the Parlay initiative, then move onto improving its manufacturing process with the 3D printed Alphaedge 4D sneaker. Adidas has combined many of the technologies into an all-new sneaker, the Adidas Futurecraft STRUNG. The team that created STRUNG was comprised of a small group dedicated to the project. The idea was inspired by architecture and the use of robotics to create new ways to build fiber structures and materials. The challenge with this idea was that it was to be designed and built from scratch. As a result, the team relied a lot on trial and error, but with a clear vision. The team initially started the project by building things by hand. This included prototypes and allowing the project to evolve naturally. The STRUNG material is not knitted and weaving, but the process was designed to place the yarn in any direction.

The process of development is still in the early stages. However, the Adidas Futurecraft STRUNG sneaker is the first milestone of many. The resulting upper is a lightweight design with a cocooned feel and fit. The shoe locks in the heel to prevent any slip. It also included stiffer and stronger red threads places at the midfoot, toebox, and heel. The midsole builds on the radical Adidas 4D lattice design. The team plans to use technology to achieve wonderful things. They want to be the platform that serves multiple sports, starting with running. Adidas has shown us amazing innovation in the world of 3D printed shoes. It may even benefit their idea for STRUNG shoes. Either way, I look forward to seeing the footwear they will bring.

Adidas recently launched a new pair of shoes as part of their “Faster than” campaign. The SL20 shoes are crafter with a 3D printed “Lightstrike” midsole. The brand claims this new technology will help athletes with explosive movements and enduring speed. The SL20 is the second pair of shoes with a new midsole released after the Adidas Adios 5. Adidas also launched the UB20 and 4D 1.0 shapes that use the new 3D printing technology for their midsoles. With the Lightstrike technology, runners will feel a fast heel-to-toe transition, which combined with soft cushioning, will help them take each step efficiently. The cushioning offers a different foam compared to the brand’s other midsole. Another feature of the Adidas SL20 is the torsion spring that enhances support on landing the foot and ensures a good transition that propels runners forward. The shoe also sports a continental-stretch web outsole.

The Adidas SL20 weighs about 230 grams and features a mesh-like surface on the top that helps with breathability. The Shoes are available in three colors overseas. These include the core black, cloud white, and signal coral variants. The 3D printed shoes featuring Lightstrike and boost technologies will launch across select retail stores in India on February 27th. They will also be available on the Adidas website. Another innovation that impresses 3DShoes.com and keeps up interested.

Some of you may wonder what a shoe with a 3D printed sole looks like. You’ll notice they’re a little heavier than usual but still feel pretty good, using the Adidas Alphaedge 4D as an example. Traditional soles of about any kind are created with injection molding. Carbon Digital Light Synthesis does away with the process by opting for an elaborate building process that went through 50 different designs. It allows for the sole’s performance to be tested early on in the design phase, eliminating the need for prototypes. The photochemical process works by projecting light through an oxygen-permeable window into a reservoir of UV-curable resin. As the UV images are projected, the part solidifies, and the build platform rises. Oxygen inhibits the photochemical reaction so that there is always a thin, liquid interface of uncured resin between the window and the printing part.

Although 3D printed soles have a bit more heft to them, they provide durability. The printed webbing absorbs and redistributes shock and movement as your foot strides. 3D printed shoes can be easily customizable in the design process, which is especially ideal in the world of professional sports. The shoes take some getting used to, but once you’ve gotten used to the sensation you won’t want to take them off. They’re a pair that we at 3DShoes.com wouldn’t mind owning someday.

Adidas’s 3D printed technology was one of the biggest innovations in the latter half of the 2010s. They’re starting off the 2020s with a new 4D Run 1.0 which combines top-tier technology with a vibrant “Signal Coral” launch colorway, they are the next step in the brand’s 3D printed efforts. Created with a speedy athletic mesh, the shoe’s upper features a sleek shape that is reminiscent of other high-end footwear. The accents are applied in an intentionally blotchy fashion that is between an abstract nod to animal print and airbrush graphics. Fused overlays appear on the heel and toebox, while a white heel clip and collar add airy contrast.

Branding is provided by a smooth three-stripe graphic on the midfoot and a small logo on the heel. Below this upper sits a full-foot 4D midsole dressed in a signature “Aero Green” shade. The midsole is lightweight and supportive, and the outsole is an icy orange, finalizing the design. The Adidas 4F Run 1.0 is available on the Adidas website for $250. I look forward to seeing what Adidas will bring to the 3D printed footwear world for the next decade.

The past 10 years have brought some of the most advanced and necessary footwear innovations in history. We’ve seen 3D printed sneakers, auto-lacing systems, and fully recyclable footwear which shoes a bigger, brighter, and more responsible future. Some of the most influential sneakers of the decade have been highlighted, and I want to mention the 3D printed pair that made the top 12 of the 2010s. Showing as number 8 on the list, are the Adidas Futurecraft shoes which were released back in 2015. 3D printing was all the rave in almost every manufacturing segment. The benefits were, and still are undeniable as it makes everything faster and easier while reducing waste and cutting costs. The footwear industry has a lot riding on advancements in additive manufacturing because it is one of the most wasteful industries.

In 2015 Adidas unveiled its very first sneaker with a fully 3D printed midsole, releasing it under the brand’s Futurecraft 3D and with an UltraBoost-like shape. Between the timely tech and on-trend design, it was an instant hit among sneakerheads and techies. Two years later, they switched to Digital Light Synthesis, a technology pioneered by Carbon, which uses light and oxygen to craft soles at greater speeds, quality, and without much restriction. In 2019, Adidas revealed the FutureCraft.Loop, a shoe that is not only made of recycled materials but is fully recyclable itself, able to be ground-up and used in the production of a new pair. To check out the other 11 shoes on the list, make sure to check out the original posting.
